According to Reuters, Mexican authorities reported a new case of the New World screwworm parasite in a goat near Mexico City, marking the second detection in two days and highlighting a persistent outbreak. This follows a Dec. 31, 2025, case in a calf in Tamaulipas, located near the U.S. border, contributing to over 13,000 cases since Nov. 2024.
